The Catholic Community of Hopewell has a team of parishioners who meet with those wishing to reconnect with the Catholic Church to answer questions, address doubts, hurts and fears and, most importantly, heal any wounds the Church may have caused. Our Parish Center Hours are 9:30am to 2:30pm, Monday-Friday.

How do I register with the parish?
Families or individuals that wish to register in our parish as new parishioners are asked to contact the Parish Office at 609-737-0122 or stjames1@verizon.net.
How soon will I get my envelopes?
Saint James typically mails the envelopes for weekly contributions two weeks after processing of the registration information.
What is required to have my child baptized?
First call the Parish Office at 609-737-0122 and register to attend a baptism class, held once a month on the second Thursday, with one of our Deacons and other families seeking to receive the Sacrament. At that meeting you will receive forms for godparents to fill out, indicating registered membership in good standing in their Parish, and instructions on how to set a date for your Baptism with Fr. How do I register my children for Christian Faith Formation?

I am planning to get married. Where do we start?
All couples who are planning to be married are to contact the parish office one year in advance to make arrangements. Engaged Encounter, and all documents must be completed at least six months prior to the date of the marriage. A date and time for a wedding cannot be reserved until the couple meets with a priest or a deacon. See our Marriage page for more information.
How can I have Masses said for friends, family or deceased loved ones?
To request a Mass for deceased friends, family or loved ones, call the St. James Parish Office at 609-737-0122. Masses are $15 and can usually be scheduled to the requested date.
How do I arrange communion for someone who is homebound?
If a parishioner is unable to attend Sunday Mass and wants to receive communion at home, please call the St. James Parish Office at 609-737-0122.
Whom do I contact if I or a family member is sick or in the hospital?
Because of Federal Privacy Regulations, the parish is not notified automatically when a parishioner is hospitalized. If a loved one is hospitalized, please contact the St. James Parish Office at 609-737-0122. We will make every effort to visit them.
How do I obtain a Letter of Eligibility to be a Baptismal/Confirmation sponsor?
To obtain a letter of eligiblity to be a godparent or sponsor you must be a registered member of St. James. Call the Parish Office at 609-737-0122 with your name, telephone number, and the name of the person you are sponsoring.
How can I obtain a copy of my sacramental records?
Please call the Parish Office at 609-737-0122 with your name, telephone number, address, and the year (approximate if not known) you made the sacrament and we will send you a copy.
How can I make an appointment to meet with one of the priests?

What is the deadline to have items included in the parish bulletin?
All information submitted for publication in the parish bulletin must be submitted to Deacon Moore Hank at wmmhank@hotmail.com no later than the Monday before the desired weekend of publication.
Does the parish have any information I can give to my non-Catholic friends or someone who is interested in becoming a Catholic?
The Catholic Community of Hopewell Valley offers R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) for anyone seeking to become Catholic. This process is ongoing and is designed to meet an inquirer wherever they are in their faith life, journeying with them from initial questioning to a deeper commitment that leads to the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation.
